Last part: Psalm 121

Psalm 121

A lesson from Psalm 121

God protects and helps many people even when they do not deserve it.

But the special protection that Psalm 121 describes is not for everyone. It is for God’s servants who have given their lives to him completely. They belong to him, and they trust him completely for their protection.

But to become one of God’s servants, you do not need to be a special person. You do not need to be someone important, or even someone especially holy. But you must confess your wrong deeds to God; and you must invite him into your life. You must give your life to him completely. You must obey him and you must trust him. You must allow him to direct your life.

Sometimes people put themselves in danger because of their own stupid actions. Then they ask God to save them from that danger. God is kind, and sometimes he helps those people. But they should recognise that they have done something wrong. God does not want people to do foolish things. He wants people to learn to be wise.
